Compared to Reddit’s front page with 60,000 page views at the time, the Overwatch subreddit went for over 80,000 page views for 17 minutes straight. Bassett commented on how remarkable the feat was, noting only two other examples of the same moment on Reddit (specifically Obama’s and Psy’s Ask Me Anything sessions).

Overwatch is a new multiplayer game published and developed by Blizzard Entertainment. The game previously opened a beta testing during May 5th-9th, spurring an overwhelming interest in Blizzard’s baby steps to the first person shooter genre. Since May 24th, Overwatch is out for both PC and consoles (Xbox One and PlayStation 4).
